about Mr Wood:
A little about me… I studied at the University of Nevada and received a Bachelors in Music Education. My main instrument is the Euphonium. Some teachers that I studied under include: Grady McGrannahan - Drake University, Dr. A.G “Mack” McGrannahan – University of Nevada Reno, Adam Frey - Emory University, Dr. Kelly Thomas – University of Arizona, and Thomas Reudi – Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts. Some groups I play/ have played in include: University of Nevada Wind Ensemble, College Band Directors National Association’s Inter collegiate Band, Hickman Brass Ensemble, The Reno Wind Symphony, The Reno Chamber Orchestra and The Reno Municipal Band.
A little about my philosophies on band are as follows: It is extremely important that my students receive a well rounded, standards-based music education. The Reno High Band Program is a pride organization, and instills a strong sense of responsibility and belonging in its members. Finally, music is fun! Lets keep it that way.
My favorite color is green, my favorite blues musician is Robert Johnson. I enjoy bicycles, yoga and Nevada history.
